GroundSpark is a non-profit that creates visionary films and dynamic educational campaigns that move individuals and communities to take action for a more just world. They wanted an update to their home page. The old home page way very busy and becoming harder to maintain.
To keep the development costs down, GroundSpark also wanted to leverage their existing WordPress theme as much as possible. We developed several design candidates for them that showed a greatly simplified home page while still offering the most important parts of their message. Once we agreed on a design, we write an updated theme that not only simplified the home page, but also integrated with other existing page templates. Finally this new theme removed much of the hard coding that limited GroundSpark’s ability to make content and menu changes. The updated theme allows their staff to make any change to the menus and the home page content much more easily.
